During the entire Holocaust, 11 million people were murdered under the brutal regime of the Third Reich led by Adolph Hitler.
Every year, 10 million children under the age of five die from hunger…from dirty water…from malaria…from unclean birthing conditions.
We are living in the middle of a holocaust–only, if possible, worse. More lives are being claimed, yet there is not even a totalitarian dictator standing in our way. It’s only our complacency that keeps us from ending this tragedy.
Each day, 26,000 mothers grieve the loss of their child…a grief we all know would leave us almost unable to breathe. Where do these mothers live? Where are these 10 million children dying each year?
The countries listed below have the highest under-age-5 mortality rate in the world, all ranging between 10 and 26%. All but two of the countries are in Africa. (In comparison, the U.S. has an under-age-5 mortality rate of .08%)**

“In Germany they came first for the Communists, and I didn’t speak up because I wasn’t a Communist. Then they came for the Jews and I didn’t speak up because I wasn’t a Jew. Then they came for the trade unionists, and I didn’t speak up because I wasn’t a trade unionist. Then they came for the Catholics and I didn’t speak up because I was a Protestant. Then they came for me, and by that time no one was left to speak up.”~ Martin Niemoeller, Lutheran Pastor imprisoned in concentration camps for 7 yrs for his outspoken opposition to the Nazi regime
It is the world’s greatest holocaust. Will we speak up, reach out, set aside our personal pursuits and comforts to bring the love of Jesus, or will we turn a blind eye?
“Whatever be done in the way of giving up or self-denial or deadness to the world should result from the joy we have in God.”~ George Muller
It is our deeply-rooted love and joy in the Lord that will cause us to want to give, to beg to give, to search for ways to give–so that living water pours out of us to meet the needs of those who are living in the middle of this holocaust.
If you love me, you will obey what I command. John 14:15
This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. John 15:12
Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him. John 7:38
