Lukewarm and Lovin' It

God is certainly using Francis Chan to challenge Cindy and me and all Christians with the Word of God! In his sermon, Lukewarm & Loving It, Chan asks questions Jesus asks, points to answers in Scripture, and then speaks to his own congregation about their lives.  (I don’t think we’re the only one who like this sermon–it’s been viewed on YouTube more than 74,000 times!)

Are we living a lukewarm life?  Do we even care that we are living a lukewarm life?  What are the consequences of a lukewarm life?  When we understand who God is, why would we ever want to be lukewarm?  You gotta watch this one.  I would love to hear your thoughts on it after you watch it.

  1. Andrew says:

I think the first step Francis makes is excellent…and so important. He helps us to see that WE are rich so that when we hear Jesus declare how hard it is for the rich to enter the kingdom of God we realize he is actually talking about US and not just Bill Gates and his friends.

I LOVE the way Francis takes scripture at face value and accepts it for what it says rather than trying to justify or explain away the words Jesus says in the name of contextualization.

I LOVE the way he compares the rich young ruler, Zacchaeus and the parable of the Treasure that we will give up anything for.

Thanks for sharing this with us. May we respond in obedience rather than critical analysis which usually only leads to paralysis.
