What if “normal” isn’t normal?

“(In our western culture), it’s considered normal to keep far more than we give.

I’m convinced the greatest deterrent to our giving is this: the illusion that earth is our home.” ~Randy Alcorn, Money Possessions & Eternity, page 166

What would happen if normal changed?

Derrick

Derrick- sponsored as of 3/3/2009

Derrick Muwanguzi is an AIDS orphan. And he has AIDS. He is 13 years old. His parents have died. His grandmother has AIDS. John Mugabi saw him looking for a place to call home. After seeing where he had been living, he took him to his own home (where another 10 to 20 orphans also live). He’s wearing a school uniform, but isn’t sponsored yet.

How does such a sweet boy deal with such tragedy? I thank God John and Esther have shared their home and their food and will share Jesus with him. Jesus is truly our only hope.

For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people, training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age, waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for himself a people for his own possession who are zealous for good works. Titus 2:11-14
