Freedom!
Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom! II Corinthians 3:17
I (Cindy) love this quote, because it explains so well (to me anyway!) how and why I can learn to say “no” to things I think I want, and yes to God. Each time I do say no to ‘me’, I am learning that there is absolute freedom in choosing God’s way! It’s always better for the person I end up serving, I’m happier–more satisfied and fulfilled, and I feel liberated–lighter, like I’m carrying around less weight.
They…worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator… Romans 1:25
Over the past year or so, I’ve discovered some things about myself. And one is that I was not worshiping God alone. I had been worshiping and serving created things. My worship– my time, my talent, my energy, my treasure, what I spent time thinking about and planning– was not purely focused on God. For me, it was my home. Once God showed me that and I began to pry myself away from my idols…well, I can’t describe how absolutely freeing it has been. It is true that where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom!
Saying no is becoming much easier, because there is something 10 times more attractive for me to choose.
Report from Esther Mugabi
Thanks and I am pleased to let you know that for the first time in my life, I traveled a journey of over 500 miles to go for evangelism. And I thank God that we are back now and that so many people came to know Jesus Christ as their Savior. And while I was gone, Cephas was making 2 years; isn’t that great? I didn’t even realise it to get him a gift, but I am so grateful to God for his life. And yes, at times I feel like life is out of control, but again the Holy Spirit reminds me of God’s mighty hand which He always stretches out to me and takes control.

These photos are of the baptism of 39 of the students at Lake Victoria. The expressions on their faces as they approach the water says it all! Freedom!
