Thanks for Sending Us to Prison!

Small Group Study

The two things so far that have been most life-transforming for us (Frank and Cindy) in our walks with the Lord are:

  • Randy Alcorn’s book, Money, Possessions & Eternity and
  • The 13-week Perspectives course

In September, we are going to be leading a small group that will be reading through/discussing Randy Alcorn’s book, Money, Possessions & Eternity.  If you are in the Phoenix area, we invite you to join us (please RSVP if you think you might be interested!).  If you are outside of Phoenix, you may want to lead your own group or join another group that is reading through the book.  Please e-mail us for more information!

In January of 2009, we’ll be going through the Perspectives Course again and invite you to take it with us or in your own locale.

Hebrews 10:24 And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds.
Proverbs 15:9  The Lord…loves those who pursue righteousness
Ephesians 2:10  For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

We are asking God to use these studies to continue to spur us on toward love and good deeds…to help us pursue righteousness and holiness in our personal lives… and to learn about God’s global Kingdom and the good works He has prepared for us so that we can walk in them.

Water Connected at the Mugabis

Greetings to you in the Name of our Lord,

To tell you the truth, I had never thought in my life that I would live in a house with water connected, a washing machine, and a flush toilet.  As I write this mail, I am sorry for not knowing and having enough strong words to express the gratitude of all people that live with us. Esther is the happiest woman in the World!!! Can you imagine washing by hand for 9 kids everyday??

To all of you we want say a big thank you. Little kids, especially the age we keep at our home, are difficult to keep in the night, but with the flush toilet things seem to have settled. The first time the machine washed, Esther with all the kids waited for it to finish.  It was a very cool experience. We do thank God.

I am now left with two things to become real American– that is a cooker (oven) and that machine you use to heat food in just a minute or two.

On behalf of everyone–Brother John.  7/22/08

New Prison Church

I am pleased to inform you that a new fellowship in Jinja prison has been opened. Over the years, many of us have been visiting this prison but had never planned to begin an organized fellowship.  But last week on Saturday and Sunday, after 46 men came to the Lord, we decided to find a nearby church where we are going to train, so they can disciple these men. In total there are 219 men who gave their lives to Christ just in these 7 months.

This makes the numbers of our fellowships 19. These are fully recognized, and we are given a place to fellowship from. Thanks so much for sending us in Prison.

Peace upon you all.  Brother John and Esther. 7/22/08
