There are approximately 147 million orphans in the world. Every day 30,000 children die from starvation or a preventable disease like diarrhea. While we are all not called to adopt, we are all called to care for orphans in their distress (James 1:27). One way we can care, is by sponsoring an orphan and meeting their needs financially and through prayer. These children are total orphans with no parents, they need our help. Adoption through sponsoring not only blesses the child, it blesses you, the giver. Please pray and ask the Lord what you can do for the “least of these.”
